How to read Türkiye's place in European clothing trade
Use the period, product category and direction of trade together when comparing a clothing-market indicator.

Eurostat's International trade in goods by type of good includes a section on apparel and clothing accessories. It uses the product group SITC 84 and distinguishes trade with countries outside the European Union from trade between EU members.
For buyers and suppliers, this distinction matters: a country's share of EU clothing imports is not its share of all Turkish exports, a company's market share or a forecast of next season's orders. Those are different measures.
When saving a figure for a sourcing brief, keep its year, unit, product classification and direction of trade beside it. Check the current source before quoting a value, because statistical publications may be revised. This guide to the source offers a method for reading data; it does not make a sales or investment forecast.
