A sample brief for your next footwear collection
Give the supplier the information needed to discuss fit, construction and a sample.
A footwear enquiry needs more than a photograph. Describe the style, intended use, size system and requested size range. Record your preferred upper, lining and sole materials, closure, colour and finish. If you have an existing last or technical file, explain its ownership and availability.
Ask what the supplier can assess from the brief and what must be tested on a physical sample. Fit, comfort and durability are not established by a catalogue image. Agree how you will record sample feedback, who approves changes and which version becomes the reference.
