Design details for bags and small leather goods
Describe structure, measurements and components before discussing production.
Begin with the type of bag and the items it should carry. Add external dimensions and indicate whether they are fixed requirements or an initial target. Explain the desired outer material, lining, reinforcement, closure, handles and straps.
Hardware often needs its own decisions. List zips, buckles, rings and feet, together with the requested colour or finish. Show the position and method of any branding using materials you are entitled to provide. Ask the manufacturer which components are available and which require separate sourcing.
A first quotation may depend on sample decisions and component availability. Record these assumptions instead of treating the first price as final. Keep your approved sample notes beside the production enquiry so later conversations refer to the same specification.
